We design the Deck Builders Waterville website for visitors who depend on a screen reader, magnification software or the keyboard, so reading about decks and getting in touch works for them too. Our goal is WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and changed pages are checked against it again.

Should the quiz, a town map or any page block you, write to [email protected] or phone us, and we will chase down the fault. Everything the forms do can be done on a call, booking the yard visit included.

Current as of November 4, 2026, when this statement was last revised.

A homeowner planning a deck or a replacement deserves a website that works with the tools they use. This page sets out our target standard, the features already working, the shortcomings we have found and the route for reporting a barrier.

Accessibility in Our Process

Every page gets an accessibility check when we build it and again whenever we edit it. Any barrier we spot or a visitor flags remains on our list until its fix goes live.

The Guidelines We Follow

The W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, are our yardstick, with Level AA as the target.

Claiming full conformance would overstate our work, because audits miss things, yet the guidelines still decide how we lay out pages, pick colors and write code.

What Works Today

  • Pages use headings in order, and each link's text names its destination.
  • Photos that carry information have text descriptions, every contact-form field shows its label, and the quiz's photo cards are ordinary checkboxes underneath.
  • Text and background meet AA contrast, the consent window works from the keyboard, and animation pauses on any device set to reduce motion.

Known Gaps

With a screen reader or only a keyboard, the town maps are clumsy to use. Nothing is lost by passing them by, since the same pages name every mapped town in a list of plain text links.

Directions from the contact page open in Google Maps, whose accessibility is Google's to manage. Our phone number and office address appear as plain text on the contact page, and our email appears on this one.

Right now our forms end by opening a draft in your email app, so that final step is only as accessible as the app you use. When no app opens, your answers appear in a box ready to paste into any email.

Flagging a Barrier

Tell us where the trouble happened and which task it blocked. Email [email protected] or call us using the footer's phone number, and we will dig into the cause and repair it.

Reaching Us Without the Forms

Calling us does the same job as any form. Tell us your town and what kind of deck work you want, and we can book the visit to your yard during that call.

When This Statement Is Reviewed
