Deck Builders Waterville receives your name, phone, email, town and deck details in three ways only: an email you send from one of our forms, a phone call, or a message you write to us. We use those details to answer you, look over your yard and price the deck, and we sell them to nobody.

A tick in the consent box permits calls, texts and email about the deck you asked about, and a STOP reply ends the texts. This site carries no analytics code, ad pixel or tracking cookie, and you can write to [email protected] to see, correct or remove what we hold about you.

This policy explains what Deck Builders Waterville does with the personal details people give us online, by phone and by email. The sections below list the details we gather, our reasons for holding them, the outside services involved and what you are entitled to request.

Who We Are

Deck Builders Waterville builds new decks and replaces old ones from an office in Waterville, Maine. We work in Waterville and 21 towns around it, most in Kennebec County or Somerset County and four in Waldo County, and our website lives at deckbuilderswaterville.com.

How Our Forms Work at Launch

At present, both of our forms stop short of sending anything to us. The estimate quiz and the contact form each end by placing your answers in a draft email addressed to [email protected], which opens in your email app and reaches us only after you press Send.

On a phone or computer with no email app, your answers show up in a box instead, ready to paste into any email. Leave a form before the last step and no draft exists, and nothing you typed stays in your browser.

What a Request Carries

The draft holds what you entered and picked:

  • Reaching you: name, phone number and email address.
  • The deck: your town, the quiz card you chose (a new deck, replacing an old deck or rebuilding it bigger), your notes and, on the contact form, the kind of deck project, a budget figure and whatever you wrote in the message box.
  • The request itself: a record of your consent tick, the address of the page you began on and when the draft was created.

Anything we learn on a call or at the visit goes into that same record, such as the size and height of the deck you want or the state of an old frame. Once you hire us, the file also takes in the price we wrote, the contract with both signatures and each invoice we issue.

Our web host also logs every page request, form or no form. A log line holds the visitor's IP address, the browser in use and the page being loaded.

How We Use Your Information

Three jobs, and no others, account for every use of your details:

  • replying to you and arranging the visit to your yard
  • pricing the deck, then building and invoicing it if you go ahead
  • reaching you by phone, text or email about the job, as far as your consent allows

Nobody buys your information from us, and we never sell it. What we send you concerns the deck you asked about and nothing else.

Outside Services That See Your Details

Your details pass through outside services of three kinds:

  • Email: your provider carries what you send, Cloudflare relays mail addressed to our info@ address to our team's inbox, and our mail host keeps the copy.
  • Calls, texts and records: the customer-management system that runs our phone line and texts may keep your request and any call notes.
  • Hosting: Cloudflare serves every page of the site and holds the request log described above.

Town-page maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap tiles, and fetching them shows that service your IP address. Asking for directions on the contact page takes you to Google Maps, where Google's privacy rules take over from ours.

We hand over information when the law compels it, a subpoena being one case. Sharing can also happen when a person's safety is threatened or our legal rights need defending.

Every form here that prepares a request carries one consent box, empty until you tick it, and the form will not build the draft without that tick. On the quiz, a short linked line by the box opens the complete wording, and the contact form shows the complete wording in full beside its box.

Your tick gives Deck Builders Waterville, along with its team members and assistants, permission to email you, text you by SMS or phone you so we can verify the request and the answers you gave, and a Do-Not-Call listing on your number does not cancel that permission. That permission covers follow-up on the request too, calls and texts sent by automated technology included, and agreeing is never a condition of any purchase.

Should you browse sections of the site that concern builders, contractors, real estate agents or home service providers, your permission covers them as well. The same tick records that you accept this policy and our terms.

Prefer not to consent online? Call the number in any page's footer, and we will take the request by voice.

Texts and Phone Calls

Our texts cover your estimate request and the deck work that follows it, such as a visit time or a progress note during the build. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

  • Reply STOP at any point, and our texts stop after one confirming message.
  • Send HELP for help, or write to [email protected].
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third party.

Calls from us stop the same way. Tell us on the phone or by email, and your number comes off the list we dial.

If an AI Receptionist Answers Later

No AI receptionist answers our line today, though one may in future. If one is added, it will tell callers it is an AI as the call begins, write down a name, a callback number and what the deck needs, and attach a short summary to that caller's record.

No Tracking on This Site

This website runs without analytics, advertising pixels or tracking cookies. It stores nothing on your device, and both forms still work if you block cookies.

OpenStreetMap, source of the map tiles, may set cookies under rules of its own. Your browser settings let you refuse cookies.

Record Keeping

We hold a request while it is open and while we follow up on the deck in it. Files for customers who hire us can outlast that when the law or a contract says they must.

Keeping Your Information Safe

Only the services named in this policy, and the people on our team working on your deck, can reach your details. No website or mailbox can be made immune to attack, and we make no such claim.

Maine's breach notice law governs how we would warn you if a breach ever touched your personal information.

What You Can Ask Us to Do

You may ask for any of these:

  • to see the personal details on file about you
  • to have mistakes or outdated entries corrected
  • to have them deleted, apart from records we are bound by contract or statute to retain

Send the request to [email protected] or phone it in from the number on our contact page. Identity checks may come first, so we know the request is really yours.

Children's Privacy

Our pages are meant for adults planning a deck, not for children. When we find out that someone under 18 has given us personal details, we erase them.

We link to outside sources, from town code pages and Maine's home construction contract law to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and the American Wood Council. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy reaches no further than our site.

Changes to This Policy

This page is revised whenever the law or the way we handle information shifts. The version in force is whichever one carries the newest date at the top.
